Jeremy J Nieves is a 2023 C/RHP/1B with a 6-0 215 lb. frame from San Lorenzo, PR who attends Puerto Rico Baseball Academy. Recorded an 8.24 60-yard dash. Primary catcher with a physical and strong frame. Begins from a low set behind the dish. Used a methodical gather and a short arm action. Kept throws low with solid arm strength, recording a best pop time of 2.03. Also worked out at first base, displayed a clean turn and threw accurately. Right-handed hitter and starts with a wide base and even feet. Takes an inside path to the ball and clears front hip well. Showed quickness to hands and good strength at the point of contact. Secondary right-handed pitcher and begins delivery with a leg lift to core level, landing on line. Uses a medum length arm action, releasing from a mid-3/4 slot. Fastball topped at 82 mph, featuring good plane through the zone while garnering a good amount of swing-and-miss. Flashed a slider that showed some sweep to it. Excellent student.
