Derric Stephens is a 2026 RHP/1B/C/OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Lincoln, CA who attends Rocklin. Big and strong young build. Primary right handed pitcher, works from a simple semi-windup delivery with tall and fall actions down the mound, high 3/4's arm slot with some crossfire action on release creates angle, low effort release, repeats his mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 71 mph with occasional cutting action, threw lots of strikes with his fastball and created lots of soft ground ball contact. Threw a sweeping slider as his breaking ball, best sliders were thrown with conviction at the top of the velocity range. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread and open stance with a quiet hand load, strength drive swing with some lift in it, flashes some power and ability to impact the ball. Played all over the field on defense, including catcher, outfield and first base. Looked most comfortable at first base with good glove work and the ability to make accurate throws. 8.30 runner in the sixty.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
