Asa Swanson is a 2027 SS/MIF with a 5-9 172 lb. frame from Scotts Valley, CA who attends Scotts Valley. Compact, lean build with room to continue adding strength in the coming years. 7.98 runner in the sixty. Right-handed hitter, narrow start with high hands and back elbow in the stance, hanging leg lift trigger load, throws the hands and has strength coming off the barrel. Has ability to lift the ball at impact and worked to the pull-side consistently. Primary shortstop, solid footwork getting to grounders to both sides, glove gets down early with solid feel for the leather and smoothness to the hands, gets it out quickly with developing arm strength, recorded throws across up to 69 mph. Great student.
