Shane Wells is a 2029 1B/RHP/3B with a 5-10 205 lb. frame from St Louis, MO who attends Home school. Big, strong frame with plenty of present strength. Ran an 8.15 60-yard dash. Right-handed hitter who sets up in a spread, open stance and shows an aggressive turn with quick hands, producing hard contact in BP with a more level path and the strength to impact the baseball. On the infield, shows workable glove actions with arm strength to throw across the diamond, and his footwork will continue to get cleaner as he gains more lateral quickness. At first base, showed his best defensive look with two-hand actions on balls out front and clean, accurate feeds with carry on throws. On the mound, works from the windup with a side step and leg lift, delivering from a high 3/4 slot with an 80-82 mph fastball that comes out with downhill angle, and a low-70s slider with good shape that generated swings and misses; overall strike throwing is still developing. Named to the PG Chicago Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List. Perfect Game MVP. Good Student.
