Marcos Lopez is a 2027 3B/RHP/C/OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Ozone Park, NY who attends Archbishop Molloy. Athletic build with good present strength. Right handed hitter, sets up in a narrow and open stance with a low leg lift trigger, gets his lower half turned well to create torque, hits to all fields and creates back spin, looking to lift the ball. Primary third baseman on defense who has the athleticism and arm strength to play all over the field. Athletic actions at third and works through the ball well, quick release on his throws, showed his range well, good carry across the infield. Showed the same type of aggressiveness in the outfield working through the ball. Sets up well behind the plate, has athletic quickness and gains ground into his throws, arm strength plays well behind the plate. Also piched, step by step mechanics from a 3/4's arm slot, tends to show the ball early. Fastball topped out at 87 mph and got on hitter's quickly. Slider had some spin and depth to it and showed potential. Developing firm change up. Good student.
