Carsten Vasut is a 2026 OF/RHP with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Stratford. Slender young build with plenty of room to get stronger. 6.69 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder with a quick first step to ball with clean actions while working through. Quick exchanges and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Generate low, accurate carry to the bag topping at 86 mph. Right handed hitter with an open stance and toe tap trigger. Stays balanced throughout and showed a level, line drive swing path. Primarily looked to work to the middle of the field but flashed the bat speed to turn the barrel and generate loud contact to pull side as well. Worked exclusively from the stretch while on the mound. Simple leg lift to belt and created good downhill momentum towards the plate. Deeper arm circle at separation and released from a full three-quarters arm slot. Showed some command of fastball to the edges. Curveball displayed very sharp break with late depth in the low 70's. Also flashed good feel for a changeup in the mid 70's that generated some fade to arm side. Good student.
