Ben Gardner is a 2026 C/RHP/1B with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Villa Rica, GA who attends Villa Rica. Features a medium sized lean build with room to fill. Ran a 7.36 60-yd dash. Behind the plate during throwdowns he set up in a taller side saddle set up and was especially tall at reception. Showed a fast exchange with on-line quick footwork that gained ground and set good direction. Throws showed above avg. strength for his level with accuracy using a shorter arm action. At the plate, he sits in a wider/balanced stance. Uses a simple forward move where it was either a smaller leg raise or toe tap while hands takeback into a slightly lower launch. Flashed some quickness to the hands that threw the barrel a tad long and on a slightly uphill path where he was consistently under the baseball. Some inconsistent barrels throughout his round but impacted a couple deep into LF flashing some pullside power. On the mound, he side steps into a hip high knee tuck. Smaller backleg engagement. More compact AA in the back to a lower 3/4 slot. Showed good body control throughout his delivery while being able to repeat. Rotates with some quickness late into an on-line landing with an avg. block. Ran the FB up to 82 that he threw with decent control. His mid 70s changeup showed swing/miss depth and the SL showed shorter shape to it. Standout poise and mound presence. Named to Top Prospects List.
