2026 PG Northeast Indoor Showcase
John Gonzalez is a 2029 OF/RHP with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Newtown Square, PA who attends Episcopal Academy. Lean young projectable build. 5.47 runner in the forty. Primary outfielder on defense, tends to wait back on the ball, still developing his footwork into release, big wind up into his throws, has plenty of raw arm strength for his age but needs to develop the fundamentals. Right handed hitter, sets up in a spread stance with a big leg raise timer and busy hand drop load, lots of moving parts to time up, has raw bat speed but still developing the ability to repeat his swing and timing. Took a turn on the mound, works from an abbreviated wind up with a coiled leg raise and a loose 3/4's arm slot. Fastball was in the low 80's and topped out at 84 mph, created tight spin on a mid-60's curveball, plenty of arm strength but developing feel for throwing strikes. Has the tools and especially the arm to continue to develop with coaching and repetitions. Good student. Named to the PG Northeast Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List
