Ryan Canipe is a 2026 1B/LHP with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Hardy, VA who attends Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy. Slender young build with lots of room to get stronger. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread and open stance with a hanging front leg trigger, slashing swing path with lagging barrel and hands, some uphill angle at contact, worked mostly middle away with his contact, bat speed and ability to turn the barrel will continue to improve with additional strength. 7.87 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, fields the ball cleanly with good footwork and balance, makes accurate throws from a long and loose arm action, fundamentally sound overall defensive actions. Took a turn on the mound, has the same long and loose arm action and an over the top arm slot, lands a bit cross body out front. Fastball topped out at 74 mph, mostly straight, also threw a soft downer curveball. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
