2024 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Dominic Butler is a 2027 3B/RHP with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Decatur, GA who attends Southwest Dekalb HS. Started the event off clocking a 7.82 60-yard dash. A primary third baseman, secondary pitcher. Showed the ability to move well laterally. Presents glove early. Throws from a 3/4 slot with arm speed present. Displayed an accurate arm across the diamond, reaching 76 mph during workouts. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes an even base, slightly open with a toe tap timing mechanism. Swings on a linear path through the zone. Shows quality strength at contact. Approach allows for the entire field to be used. More power will come as barrel control is refined. On the mound Butler displays an athletic delivery down the mound. Throws from a 3/4 slot with average arm speed. Uses lower half efficiently. Fastball sat 74-77 mph with some sink. Paired it with a sweeping, low-70’s curveball and a low 70's changeup.
