Ian Davis is a 2029 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Youngsville, LA who attends St. Thomas More. Big and tall athletic build with good present strength and room for plenty more Works from an abbreviated wind up on the mound with a slight coil over the rubber and a high 3/4's arm slot, slow paced and under control tempo. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 80s throughout his outing with explosive life through the zone. Used short, late biting slider as go-to secondary offering and turned over a nice changeup that he mimicked well and killed spin on effectively. High-end arsenal with more velocity coming. Secondary outfielder with a developing defensive skill set. Anticipatory footwork into the fielding process, fields out in-front and maintains momentum into release. Produced fairly accurate throws up to 85 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wider base with a high hand set, high back elbow and smaller stride into launch. Slightly elongated swing path with some present bat speed and strength at impact when on-time. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments. Named to play in the Perfect Game 14U Select Festival.
