He has a low waist with a fairly long torso. Defensively, Rooney has arm strength with carry on it from the outfield. He makes consistent online throws and has solid defensive actions in the outfield. At the plate, Rooney starts with a slightly open stance and swings from a crouch. He has high hands with a high back elbow. Rooney stays open and looks to pull the baseball. He has quick hands and generates some bat speed through the hitting zone. Rooney has some present pullside power and has more power potential in there. He will hit for more power as he learns to get closed in his swing to get the most out of his lower half in his swing.
