Tyler Powell is a 2025 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Glen Carbon, IL who attends Edwardsville. Recorded a 7.44 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame with some strength present. The right-handed pitcher works from a quick full wind-up delivery from the first base side of the rubber. Hands go chest-belt-chest with a leg lift up to the belly and breaks into a deep arm path and releases from a low three-quarter arm slot. The fastball (2039 RPM) was 84-87 with life and late heaviness with occasional cut. Moved it effectively around the zone. Mixed in a well-replicated upper 70s change-up (1539 RPM) that showed some abrupt fade and kills some spin. Manipulates shape with the mid-70s curveball (2379 RPM) that had some 11-5 shape with some sharpness and late horizontal break. Kept hitters off-balance and earned a couple of swing and misses with it. Most effective when he buries it. Projects for more velocity with added strength. Exciting player with a high ceiling. Excellent student. Named to the 2024 National Indoor Showcase (Sunday) Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
