Tyler Young is a 2025 C/RHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Simi Valley, CA who attends Sierra Canyon. Lean and average size frame. Ran an 8.25 60-yard dash. A catcher with a side saddle set up, efficient footwork, developing transition quickness and average arm strength. Some ability to make the routine plays with average arm strength in the infield as well. At the plate has an even base and upright stance. Drifts some but has the combination of strength and bat speed to impact the baseball some. Primary opposite field approach, will lunge some but does a nice job of taking his hands directly to the baseball. On the mound showed an upper 70's fastball and a curve with some shaper late break to it out of a high three-quarter arm slot. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
