2024 Puerto Rico National Showcases Qualifier
Isaac Jose Carrasquillo Sola is a 2025 OF/LHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Caguas, PR who attends BYOU Academy. Medium athletic build with the beginnings of some present strength. 7.16 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, has active feet coming to the ball, tends to cut his momentum in his transition to throw, arm works well from an over the top arm slot. Left handed hitter, hits from a wide base with a short stride into contact, swings hard and creates good bat speed, was well timed and consistent in his approach, hard line drive contact to all fields, swung it well in the games. Also pitched, starts with a high leg raise to an extended arm action and over the top arm slot, high energy release with a hard fall off to the third base side, did a good job of getting rhythm and throwing strikes despite his mechanics. Fastball topped out at 84 mph, works best to his arm side with plenty of running action. Landed a big breaking slow curveball well, also threw a change up with some fade to it. Outstanding student.
