Cruz McBride is a 2029 OF/RHP with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Dripping Springs, TX who attends Dripping Springs. Long and lean high-waisted athletic build with big physical projection remaining. 7.12 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder who graded out higher on the mound at this event. Developing defensive skill set with tons of arm strength. Fields out in-front with segmented footwork, maintains momentum into release and produced arm strength up to 90 mph during drills. Right-handed pitcher that full windup delivery with deliberate pace to it. Incorporated slightly coiled leg lift into balance and moves down the slope with intent and purpose into front foot strike. Attacked the zone with full mix, ran the fastball up to 88 mph early with explosive life through the zone, showed ability to add and subtract on the fastball with two-seamer showing heavy arm-side run to it. Landed firm, abrupt two-plane breaking ball that he showed the aptitude to manipulate the speed and shape to it, while killing spin on a mimicked changeup. Easy, low-effort delivery with tons of arm speed and immense upside. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, narrow stance with a negative toe-tap trigger and present bat speed. Slight arm bar creates some length to the swing path, impacts it when on-time and in-sync, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and added strength. Named to play in the Perfect Game 14U Select Festival.
