Matthew Catalfumo is a 2027 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-4 186 lb. frame from Hazlet, NJ who attends Red Bank Catholic. Catalfumo works from a lean projectable build with additional room to fill out and add strength as a '27 prospect. Primary RHP, worked from the stretch starting from the 1B side of the rubber. Bigger chest high leg lift utilized with over the top release point, ultimately topping out at 80 mph. Did a nice job of getting down the slope with refining command of the arsenal, 3-pitch mix, CB displayed vertical depth at 2072 rpm. From the OF, worked through the baseball effectively and fielded off the front foot. Projectable arm strength displayed up to 82 mph. Offensively, started with a pre-coiled front side utilizing simple stride into impact. Attempted to create lift in the bat path with flashes of strength in the hands when timed up. Posted an exit velo of 84 mph. Ran a 5.31 forty yard dash. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
