2025 PG High School All State Select Championship (28-29 Grads)
Steven Barela is a 2029 C/RHP/UT with a 5-6 135 lb. frame from West Covina, CA who attends Calvary Baptist Schools. Smaller, young athletic build with room to grow and fill out as he matures physically. Ran an 8.14 in the 60-yard dash. Primary catcher with a compact, online exchange and clean footwork on throws, recording a 2.06 pop time with accuracy to the bag. Receives well and shows developing strength in the lower half. Right-handed hitter with a narrow, even stance and a rotational path through contact. Works the middle of the field with a contact-oriented approach, producing line drives on the ground with occasional carry to the pull side. Shows sound baseball actions and developing tools that will continue to improve with added strength and physical maturity. Good Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
