2025 PG Sunshine East Showcase (National Showcases Qualifier)
Samuel Soto is a 2025 SS/2B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Union, NJ who attends Penn Foster. Recorded a 7.24 60-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with a tall and lean fram with plenty projection. Showed good intent to actions in the infield with plenty of comfort ranging up the middle. Longer arm swing through the back and threw across the diamond accurately with consistency during the round. Right-handed hitter and starts from a wide base. Employs a hanging leg lift trigger and the swing is hands driven. Bat stays on a level path through the zone and swings to do damage. Quality bat speed and projects for more power moving forward. Also pitched and uses a high leg kick to get the delivery started. Fastball topped at 76 mph and released from a 3/4 slot. Has whip to the arm and mixed in the breaking ball for strikes. Excellent student.
