Michael Cangelosi is a 2029 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Kirtland, OH who attends Padua Franciscan. Medium athletic build with some young strength. Right handed hitter, sets up in a balanced medium base with a big shift into his swing, busy hand load, rotates well and clears his hips, loose and extended swing and got the barrel out front consistently with bat speed and some lift, can get long at times but has present hitting tools and plenty of hitting projection. 7.06 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has quick feet and moves well laterally, athletic mover, has a compact arm action and gets the ball out quickly, changes slots easily, solid arm strength with more to come, definite long-term shortstop potential. Took a turn on the mound, works exclusively from the stretch, sinks into his back leg and gets some drive to the plate, up tempo mechanics. Fastball topped out at 81 mph early and settled into the upper 70's with some arm side run. Curveball was a solid pitch when it was in the zone with some depth and 11/5 bite. Very good student. Named to the PG Michigan Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
