2025 PG National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Presented by GEICO
Fabian Cruz is a 2028 C/IF with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Kissimmee, FL who attends Montverde Academy. Strong and compact stocky build. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Primary catcher who worked out at the position from a one-knee-down setup. He had some twitch and quickness working through it, with a feel for the actions to get the ball out on time. He had a shorter takeback with a sidesaddle start shown later in the front. Kept throws around the bag during his round with a consistent release. Threw 70 mph down to second and produced a 1.97 pop time. Took BP as a switch-hitter. As a right-handed hitter, he showed a narrow base, with a hanging leg lift and stride working to contact. He stayed on the backside well and was able to work behind it well and drive the baseball well. He produced a smooth swing with a functional operation in the batter's box. He had a similar left-handed setup and swing, with higher hands and a tighter setup. He was rotational through contact, with consistent impact to the middle of the field from both sides. Produced an 85 mph exit velocity during PG DK Testing. Showed a feel to hit from both sides in-game with good swings and intent to his actions. Excellent student.
