Maykel Jimenez is a 2030 SS/2B/3B with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends The Stony Brook. Medium athletic build with strength present and more to project on. Primary shortstop, gets a good first step on the baseball with feel for creating angles to it. Shows the pocket early and funnels the baseball cleanly. Has plenty of arm speed with an ability to adjust slots on the run. Released the ball from a shorter arm path. Delivered accurate throws across the diamond while recording arm strength up to 88 mph. Secondary pitcher, utilizes an abbreviated wind-up with a belt-high leg lift. Arm comes through quickly with good extension into release. Filled up the strike zone with his two-seam fastball and cutter. 2S fastball showed good sinking action and peaked at 84 mph. Mixed in a two-plane breaker as well with decent depth to it. Right-handed batter, starts in a wide stance with a high hand set-up and high back elbow. Utilizes a high leg lift trigger and barrel tip hand load for timing. Rotates his hips with intent and creates good extension out front. Remained connected for the most part with feel for accelerating the barrel through the zone. Stayed through the middle with a level path to the point of contact. Flashed a developing power tool from gap to gap. Posted an exit velocity of 91 mph. Selected to played in the 2025 13U PG Select Festival.
