2025 PG Fall Academic Showcase
Al Frankel is a 2028 OF/RHP/MIF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Dallas, GA who attends North Paulding. Lean athletic build with lots of physical projection remaining. 6.62 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, has athletic and quick actions to the ball, fields with one hand to the side, has a quick exchange, long and loose high 3/4's arm slot, can use his lower half more when throwing. Also worked out in the infield but is far more athletic and fundamentally sound in the outfield. Right handed hitter, sets up in a straight stance with a hanging front leg timer, foot gets down late at times and leaves his weight on his back side, middle of the field line drive contact when on time, some projection as a hitter with additional strength and some adjustments. Took a turn on the mound, works from a side step delivery with a high leg raise and longer high 3/4's arm slot, lands a bit open down the mound. Fastball topped out at 81 mph and is mostly straight. Change up had nice fading action, still developing feel for spinning the ball. Good student. Named to the Perfect Game Fall Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
