2025 PG Sunshine Mid-Atlantic Showcase (National Showcases Qualifier)
Matthew Fifer is a 2028 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Aston, PA who attends Salesianum. Nice young athletic build with some present strength and more to come. Right handed hitter, sets up in a spread and slightly open stance with a short leg raise trigger, loads his hands up with good rhythm, gets into his lower half well to create bat speed, has some lift in his swing to go with nice bat speed for his age, projects well as a hitter. 7.30 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, moves well and takes good angles to the ball, gets the glove in good position, got on top of some throws with good carry but changed his arm slot as well. Worked out in the outfield with similar actions and athleticism. Took a turn on the mound, worked from a full windup with a slow pace that can be sped up, deep arm in back that keeps him from getting on top of the ball. Not as athletic on the mound as in the batter's box or on defense. Good student. Named to the PG Sunshine Mid-Atlantic Showcase Top Prospect List.
