John Cruz San Migel is a 2024 C/ with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Rockdale, TX who attends Rockdale. Recorded a 7.37 second 60-yard dash time. Primary catcher with a medium frame and solid build. Side saddle setup on throws with a strong base behind the plate. Pretty athletic mover with clean exchange and some arm strength. Over-rotates on throws a touch which can be smoothed out for better release times coupled with his present arm strength for lower pop times. Good receiver with pocket awareness using multiple stances and setups with a feel for the position. Right-handed hitter with a balanced stance and even base. Slight weight shift to the backside with short stride into contact. Stays inside the ball with impact through the middle and opposite field. Good student.
