Joseph Banquer is a 2028 C/RHP with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Norco, LA who attends Destrehan High School. Medium build with some present strength and room for more. Right handed hitter, sets up in a deep hand load with a hanging leg raise trigger, long and strong swing, looking to pull and drive the ball, has some strength at contact with more to come. 8.22 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, sets up one knee down, tends to stand up to throw very early, two-step process receiving to throwing, still developing his lower half quickness and actions, some arm strength to continue to develop. Also pitched, has a high leg raise delivery with some coil over the rubber, compact arm action, pretty fast paced mechanics, was more effective with more strikes from the stretch. Fastball topped out at 81 mph and was mostly straight. Slider had good velocity with a short break and was thrown effectively for strikes, also showed a change up. Good student.
