Kai Petrones is a 2027 RHP/C, 3B, OF with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Lincoln University, PA who attends Avon Grove. High waisted, long levered frame with plenty of room and time to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a high leg lift into balance, drop-and-drive lower half mechanics and longer arm action. Fastball worked in the 66-68 mph range for the majority of his outing and topped out at 69 mph from a three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower with developing arm speed, mixed in 11-5 shaped curveball with gradual depth that will continue to improve with additional arm speed and velocity. Secondary catcher that received from a wider, side-saddled stance with segmented catch-and-throw actions into release. Deliberate paced to footwork out of the crouch, slightly elongated mid-line transfers and developing arm strength up to 62 mph from behind the plate during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, slightly open stance with a high, tight hand set and inward front leg start. Incorporates a small hover trigger for timing, Pull-side approach with uphill swing path and developing bat-to-ball skills. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments, more lower half usage and additional strength.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
