2024 WWBA Workout Showcase (June 21)
James Rice is a 2025 1B/OF with a 6-1 218 lb. frame from New York, NY who attends Fordham Prep. Strong, barrel chested physical build with impressive dense muscularity and some twitch to his athleticism. Ran the 60 yard dash in 6.95 seconds. Primary position 1B, showing sure hands with soft glove action and gets to good angles with familiarity around the bag. Clean transfer to throw and uses very short arm action to make his feeds around the diamond up to 74 mph. RHH working from an extra-wide base, small leg lift and pre-set handset with length in the front arm. Strength in hands very evident as he works the bat head directly to the ball on a steep path sometimes. Was a bit off time early in round but started launching balls and peppering hard line drives later. Showed easy loft and that projectable power in his last five swings or so, definite corner profile here. Outstanding student as well.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
