JR Starr is a 2024 OF/RHP, SS with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Hermiston, OR who attends Tri Cities Prep. He has a good frame with an athletic frame with room to add strength. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.34 seconds. Primary shortstop that works hard and stays behind the ball. He has uses shorter steps and shows good fundamentals when fielding the ball. He has a tendency to cut around the ball on his throws, costing him some velocity and accuracy. Working through his throws better will help add strength and accuracy. Secondary right-handed pitcher that uses a knee to chest leg kick and works in line with the plate well. He has a short stride and throws from out over his foot well. He has a medium arm action and throws from a 3/4 arm slot. His fastball is straight and he worked it to all quadrants of the zone. His curveball is a spinning curveball that has 11-5 shape. Right-handed hitter that starts in a wide stance with high hands. He uses a simple stride for timing and sits into his back leg well. He has a rotational swing that has an uphill swing path that creates nice loft on his line drives. Showed the ability to pull the ball with power when he makes contact out in front of the plate. Excellent student.
