Edyandriel Puchales is a 2024 SS/RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Caguas, PR who attends manuela to. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, projectable frame with room to fill throughout. Ran a 6.96 60-yard. Primary shortstop, athleticism plays in actions, fields it out front, extra step moving into release, solid arm strength and carry on throws across the diamond, varies release point on throws. Deliberate tempo to actions in the outfield, utilizes a crow hop moving into release, quickness to arm and longer release, shows good flight and present arm strength on throws to intended base. Also pitched, fluid delivery and mostly on time, clean arm action through the backside working to a three-quarters release. Creates some life to fastball when extended out front, topped out at 80 mph and mixed an 11-5 shaped curveball up to 66 mph. Worked around the zone with both pitches. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base, high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Creates lift out front at the point of contact and looks to impact the ball. Has some strength to the pull side, gets the barrel through the zone. Excellent student.
