Luca Scarangello is a 2028 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends St. Joseph by the Sea. Ran a 5.14 fourty-yard dash. A medium built and athletic right-handed fielder, Scarangello put on a strong showing in defensive workouts, showcasing versatility in the outfield and the infield. On the dirt, he had lateral quickness to both sides, taking good routes and covering ground. Scarangello got up to 74 mph across the diamond with accuracy to first. In the outfield, he possessed first step quickness, reaching 79 mph from the grass with accurate throws to the intended destination. At the plate, the left-handed swinger starts with an open base, keeping the hands high before utilizing a leg lift trigger. Scarangello showcased a line drive approach with impact potential to the pull-side. He recorded exit velocities up to 82 mph with strong contact skills. On the mound, Scarangello uses athletic movements, using a high and composed leg load before firing down the mound from a high three-quarters slot. The fastball got up to 81 with life, while mixing in a pair of breaking balls, starting with a true 12-6 curveball that flashed depth. Scarangello also used a horizontal slider with late bite, along with an advanced change-up with fade.
