Carlos Linares is a 2030 OF/RHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Smithfield, NC who attends Cleveland. Strong, tall build with present strength and room to add more as he develops. He ran an 8.38 60-yard dash. In the outfield he shows a physical presence with solid arm strength and accurate throws to both bases, and improving his first step and footwork will continue to help his defensive actions. On the mound he repeats a delivery from a three-quarters slot with a chest-high leg lift, working his fastball at 81–84 mph with some arm-side life while mixing a 72 mph breaking ball that shows tilt and depth, flashing a workable combo that will improve as strength and rhythm progress. At the plate he works from a medium base with a deep load and leveraged swing, using his lower half effectively to create bat speed and drive the ball through the zone, showing consistent middle-to-pull contact with flashes of power potential.
