Jose Alcalde is a 2025 OF/RHP with a 5-7 155 lb. frame from Yuma, AZ who attends Yuma Catholic. Features a smaller, wiry build with athleticism present. Ran a 7.03 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder. Presents glove early with good fundamentals into the catchpoint. Maintains posture well through the catch. Has some quickness to a shorter arm action. Reached 82 mph during workouts. Also worked out on the infield. Still developing consistent glove timing on the dirt. Still developing overall fluidity. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes a wide stance with a small timing mechanism showing minimal movement pre-pitch. Uses a direct path with an approach gear middle-to-opposite field. Will spray line drives that way often. Right-handed pitcher. Utilizes a semi-windup delivery with drop and drive mechanics. Shows a clean arm path using a short arm action into a 3/4 slot release. Fastball sat 73-77 mph. Offering was thrown for strikes early in counts often. Slider at 64-66 mph showed short, tilting action. Can create late bite and generate whiffs when located to the bottom of the zone. Feel for the offering allows the pitch to be used often. Excellent student.
