Ben Kolb is a 2024 1B/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Wentzville, MO who attends Wentzville Holt. Works from a tall frame with broad shoulders and athleticism present throughout. Primary first baseman, stays low to the ground as he works through the baseball. Funnels it cleanly, making quick turns before breaking into a shorter arm path. Delivered accurate throws and recorded arm strength up to 81 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch. Utilizes a leg lift that rises just above the belt with a longer takeaway through the back-side. Releases the baseball from an over-the-top slot, pulling down hard to create good arm speed. Operation remains controlled and balanced. Fastball created some angle, missing bats up in the zone while ultimately peaking at 84 mph. Mixed in a low-70s curveball that showed 12-6 shape with deceptive depth. Can land the breaker down in the zone for strikes. Right-handed hitter, starts in a narrow stance with tight hands and a high back elbow. Utilizes a hover trigger for timing and lengthy stride prior to working into a line drive stroke. Turns fast to the point of contact, creating loud impact to the pull-side and middle off the field. Recorded an exit velocity of 83 mph. Ran a 7.25 sixty-yard dash. Good student. Named to the 2024 National Indoor (Saturday-Wentzville) Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
