Mason Stroh is a 2023 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-5 200 lb. frame from Grand Forks, ND who attends Red River. Recorded a 7.99 second sixty yard dash time. Large frame, long and lanky build with plenty of room to fill, very good physical projection moving forward. Primary right-handed pitcher with a leg lift above the belt, pretty clean operation overall. Utilizes a short arm action with a slight stab, tended to miss arm side with the fastball when he missed. Featured a curveball as his primary off speed pitched, showed 11-5 shape with great feel for it. He would use the curveball often and could land it for strikes consistently. Developing swing and miss traits at present but it is a solid change of pace pitch, slows his arm down to throw it at times. Pitched to contact during his outing, the frame projects for added velocity in the future, has a great chance to improve. Secondary first baseman with segmented actions, has an idea of the footwork required, developing quickness/agility at present. Right-handed hitter with an wide base and a high hand and back elbow set. Utilizes a small lift and replace trigger and a direct and linear bat path. Passive approach with mostly ground ball contact, produced solid impact to the middle of the field. Has definite power potential given his strength and size, will unlock it as he elevates the ball. Great student. Named to the 2021 Midwest Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
