2022 Northern California Workout Showcase (Sunday)
Dominic Franco is a 2025 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-4 110 lb. frame from Livermore, CA who attends De La Salle. Rana a 8.61 second sixty. Primary short stop with a smaller young frame. Showed some feel for the glove on the infield with the hands playing out front away from the body. The footwork will get quicker with age and strength but he does a nice job getting around the ball and made accurate throws with developing arm strength. Starts with a side step on the mound with a leg lift to the belt moving through the delivery slowly. The arm works on an average arm circle through the back up to a high three-quarters arm slot with the fastball sitting 64-66 mph and finding the strike zone a good bit, he maintained the velocity in the stretch with the same drop and drive mechanics on the back side. Showed a curveball in the upper 50's with young spin traits to build upon. Right-handed hitter, starts with a narrow base loading the hands deep pre-pitch to create separation. Did a nice job staying through the middle of the field with the barrel showing some developing bat speed that will continue to improve with maturity. Good student.
