Baker York is a 2027 3B/RHP/1B with a 6-0 156 lb. frame from Raleigh, NC who attends Needham Broughton. Has a long, slender build with a high waist and very projectable frame and an incredible amount of time to fill out. He ran the 60 yard dash in 7.80 seconds and worked out as a primary position 3B. He fields the ball nicely out front working his angles well and shows emerging footwork and overall range. Delivering the ball overtop he spun the ball with clean backspin and reached 75 mph across the diamond. As he grows into his body he will cover significant ground but shows feel for the position presently. At the plate the RHH employed a wide, inline stance while showing a good loose swing with a lot of projection. His hands show strength and while he did work the bottom of the ball a bit, there is every reason to believe he is going to be an offensive impact longterm. As a RHP, he was methodical in his delivery as he separates at the belt to begin transition down the slope. He used a belt high leg lift and a medium stride to generate energy from the lower half. His pace on the mound was very good, working quickly, getting the ball back and ready to fire. His FB was in the 71-74 mph range with average spin profiles and showed a CB with good spin and quality depth in the low-60's. York was a strike throwing machine, requiring less than 40 pitches in his 3 innings of work. There is a lot to dream on with this young athlete and will be a good follow as a potential two-way player throughout his career.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
