Donovan Chao is a 2023 SS/RHP/3B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Palmdale, CA who attends Paraclete. Tall, lanky build with good length throughout the frame with more physical projection in store. Ran a 6.83 60-yard dash. Outfielder, showed a patient approach in drills. Gathers weight well and throws have present strength from a shorter arm action. Good carry and showed range both ways. Infielder, quick feet play it on a hop. Shows intent in his actions, hands and feet remain in-sync. Good glovework and throws across the diamond. Right-handed hitter, slightly open stance with a small hanging leg kick in load. Shifts well on a lofted path with present bat speed. Quick swing with natural loft that stayed through the middle. Showed well on both sides. Very good student. Named to the WWBA West Workout Top Prospect List.
