2021 Summer Northeast Showcase (Tues/Wed)
David Burd is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Briarcliff, NY who attends Briarcliff. On the bump, Burd worked out of a medium frame with some additional room to fill out, showcasing a 72-74 mph FB that pounded the zone with strikes from a downhill plane. He featured a looping curve and a solid changeup with fade which played off the fastball to keep hitters off balance. Burd sequenced well and held his velo effectively. From the outfield, Burd displayed a compact arm action and worked through the ball. Cleaning up the footwork should yield more accurate throws with velo. Offensively, he started from an even stance with intent to lift the ball and create backspin to the pull side of the field. Ran a 7.72 60 yard dash.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
