Avery Wolsey is a 2027 RHP/3B/OF with a 6-2 145 lb. frame from Benton, MO who attends Thomas W. Kelly. Works from a tall, lean frame with plenty of room to add strength as he continues to physically mature. Primary right-handed pitcher, operates from a full wind-up delivery with a coiled leg lift up to the belt. Displayed a longer takeaway through the back-side before releasing the ball from a loose three-quarters arm slot. Fastball showed arm-side run, creating some deception for opposing hitters while peaking at 76 mph. Manipulated the shape of his curveball while landing it for strikes both early and late in counts; raised his release point at times when throwing it. A lot of projection remaining from a physicality and velocity standpoint. Secondary third baseman, stays low and hunched as he works through the baseball. Gets the glove down early and releases the ball from a lower slot. Lateral range and adjustability was a bit limited. Right-handed hitter, starts in a wide stance with a low back elbow and low hand set-up. Utilizes a toe-tap trigger for timing before working into a flat bat path. Displayed a hands-driven approach with developing barrel skills and some power potential. Minor timing issues. Recorded an exit velocity of 72 mph. Ran a 7.56 sec sixty-yard dash. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
