Vargas is the only Puerto Rican in this year's PG All-American Classic and continues the line of outstanding young shortstop prospects from the island. Vargas is bigger than most shortstops and is still very projectable physically but has the requisite quickness – including 6.5 speed in the 60-yard dash – for the position, plus one of the top throwing arms in the 2018 class. He's a righthanded hitter with a strong swing that promises plenty of power and run production in the future.
