Paxton Ladner is a 2028 1B/RHP with a 6-5 195 lb. frame from Waxhaw, NC who attends Weddington High School. Extra big and strong build with plenty of room to get stronger, stands out physically. 7.19 runner in the sixty, used his speed well on the bases in the games. Primary first baseman on defense, is athletic for the position with ideal size. Has the athleticism and tools at present to play the outfield as well. Right handed hitter, starts from a wide base with a high back elbow load and a toe tap trigger, gets his foot down early and tends to get stuck on his back side, uphill swing plane, gets some jump off the barrel when he's timed up. Also pitched and graded out higher on the mound at this event. Works from the stretch with a coiled balance point over the rubber, full arm takeaway in back. Fastball was in the mid-80's and topped out at 87 mph, was around the plate consistently with his fastball with some cutting actions. Threw a short slider that had more cutterish type action, also showed some promise with his change up. Good student.
