Austin Smith is a 2015 RHP/OF/1B with a 6-4 215 lb. frame from Boynton Beach, FL who attends Park Vista Community. Very strong and physical athletic build. Easy athletic delivery, low effort with good pace, smooth fast arm action, 3/4's arm slot, bit cross body on release. Low 90's fastball, was still hitting 93 from the stretch late in the second inning, velocity comes easy and projects more in the future, can locate fastball glove side, good running action at times. Good depth and spin to curveball and slider, will wrap slider in back occasionally. Gets fading action on change up. Secondary pitches still developing but all the ingredients are there. Very projectable young pitcher. Verbal commitment to Florida Atlantic. Selected for the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
