Alex Scherff is a 2017 RHP with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Colleyville, TX who attends Prestonwood Christian Academy. Strong and mature athletic build, well defined strength with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. Low effort delivery with a high arm circle in back, mid 3/4's to 3/4's arm slot coming through, ball comes out of his hand easily. Steady fastball velocity in the 93-95 mph range, gets sink and heaviness down in the zone, has the ability to spot his fastball to both sides and spot it up. Change up is his best pitch and maybe the best change up in the 2017 class, uses it often and confidently and will pitch off it in sequencing, outstanding feel for location and movement with it. Slurve type breaking ball has some tightness and bite to it and is around the zone as another look, can see him developing a true slider at the next level. Rare to see a high school pitcher in the mid-90's with an elite level change up. Outstanding student. Selected for the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
