Johnny Casale is a 2024 1B/LHP, OF with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Brophy College Preparatory. Slender, lean build. Ran the 60-yard dash in 7.03 seconds. Primary first baseman, showed the ability to make the routine plays. Worked through the ball with stiff hands, still developing footwork and range. Displayed accurate throws, was clocked up to 80 mph on throws across. the diamond. From the mound, throws from an over the top delivery, mixes up the timing on his delivery to deceive the hitters. The fastball sat 78-82 mph with good life. Threw a lot of strikes and commanded the zone well. At the plate, hits from a slightly open even base with a high back elbow and a small leg kick. Showed the ability to hit the ball to all fields, displayed a lofty swing with decent bat speed. Excellent student.
