Diego Velazquez is a 2025 SS/3B with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Reseda, CA who attends Crespi Carmelite. Well proportioned athletic build with plenty of present strength. Left handed hitter, hits from a medium base with a slightly open front side, simple small leg lift trigger, has busy hands in his load but fires them on time, creates low effort bat speed and big impact, has strength to the pull side and can get the ball in the air, big power projection. 7.04 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, moves well with fluid footwork and creates momentum through his throws, smooth glove work, makes accurate throws with easy arm strength and carry, has a chance to out grow shortstop but will be a fine third baseman. Verbal commitment to Southern California. Named to play in the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
