Addy Thompson (2027 Ottumwa, IA) of the Ottumwa Edge was highly impressive this weekend. Thompson was extremely impactful in the circle, working consistently in the low 60s with a full arsenal of pitches including a fastball, curve, drop, and rise. She showcased excellent command, working both horizontally and vertically in the zone to keep hitters off balance. Thompson finished the weekend with an outstanding 28 strikeouts over 14 innings pitched. Already a dominant pitcher, once she fully develops her changeup—watch out.
Ashlynn Petrick (2028 Waunakee, WI) of Wisconsin Premier Jbt kept hitters guessing all weekend. Working with a deep arsenal of pitches—fastball, rise ball, curve, drop, changeup, and screwball—Petrick was highly effective in attacking all corners of the zone. Her rise ball stood out the most, featuring late break at the letters that produced plenty of swings and misses. Petrick finished her weekend with 21 strikeouts across 12 innings pitched. Just a 2028, she will only continue to develop, making her a name to get on your radar now.
Iyana Merino (2028 Iowa City, IA) of the Cedar Rapids Reds 16U was one of the most impressive hitters on the weekend. Starting from a low, open stance, Merino uses her lower half effectively in her stride, generating both power and consistency. Her confidence and ability to consistently barrel pitches make her a dangerous threat at the plate. Merino finished the weekend with seven hits, including a triple, a home run, seven RBIs, and five stolen bases. A complete gamer, Merino is definitely one to keep an eye on.
Harper Lincoln (2029 Polk City, IA) of the Iowa Dynamite 18U demonstrated her consistency and offensive ability this weekend. Lincoln showed an advanced approach at the plate, consistently finding ways to get on base and driving balls into the gaps with authority. She finished the weekend with seven hits, including five doubles and four RBIs, proving to be a reliable run producer. Lincoln’s knack for timely hitting, paired with her ability to create extra base opportunities, makes her a standout young talent with a bright future ahead.
Avery Brohmer (2027 Tomah, WI) of Wi Premier Jbt was the type of clutch hitter any team would want in their lineup. Starting from a slightly open stance, Brohmer uses her lower half well and gets her hands through the zone quickly, producing consistent hard contact. One of her standout performances came against the North Liberty Renegades, where she went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and six RBIs. With her ability to deliver in big moments, Brohmer has the tools to be an impactful presence in any lineup—and she’s only getting started.
Annie Cassidy (2027 Marion, IA) of the Cedar Rapids Reds 18u came through big for her team this weekend. With an intimidating presence in the box, Cassidy uses a slight step to transfer power and drive the ball with authority. She showcased her ability to produce line-drive power, finishing the weekend with seven hits, including a triple, and seven RBIs. With a high ceiling and plenty of room to grow, Cassidy is only going to get better as she continues to mature in the game.
Tiffany Taylor (2028 Bondurant, IA) of the Iowa Dynamite 18U continues to impress week after week. Her curveball shows sharper movement with each outing, quickly becoming one of her most dominant weapons. Taylor pairs it with a fastball consistently in the 62–64 mph range, which she commands with precision. She mixes in an excellent rise ball, changeup, drop, and drop curve to keep hitters off balance and guessing. Over the weekend, Taylor racked up a tournament-high 25 strikeouts in just 15 innings pitched, once again proving to be a major force in the circle.
Kamri Groen (2027 Allison, IA) of the Cedar Falls Tigers 18U was a key part of her team’s success this weekend. Hitting in the cleanup spot, Groen went an impressive 9-for-12 at the plate, including two doubles. A disciplined hitter, Groen consistently battles deep into counts and rarely gives pitchers easy outs. Her ability to square up the ball to all fields and deliver in pressure situations makes her a dangerous presence in the heart of the lineup. Groen’s approach, paired with her power potential and consistency, gives her a high ceiling as she continues to develop her offensive game.
Taylor Sanchez (2027 Williamsburg, IA) of Premier Fastpitch IL–Jones/Evans is definitely one to watch. Starting from a slightly open stance, Sanchez steps into the pitch to generate power and uses her quick hands and strong lower half to drive through the ball. Her raw strength allows her to consistently barrel up pitches and produce hard contact to all parts of the field. On Sunday, she posted an impressive 2.025 OPS, going 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs while also drawing three walks. With her combination of plate discipline, power, and ability to deliver in run-producing situations, Sanchez is the type of hitter any coach would be fortunate to have anchoring the heart of a lineup.
