PG Draft: Jupiter Pop Ups

Every single year, there are a plethora of standout performers during the week of Jupiter. The 2025 WWBA World Championship was no different, providing scouts and college coaches the chance to evaluate some of the best and brightest prospects in the game, from all over the country and internationally. These players get to show their stuff on the brightest stage in front of the largest number of decision-makers, all in one place.

That said, when it comes to the 2026 MLB Draft, some players showed their stuff and made an impact on those watching. Those players are individuals who may not have received a lot of initial draft buzz, but have vaulted their name into the conversation. Especially with a full launchpad ahead in the spring season, these standout players that caught the attention of decision-makers are looking to parlay a great Jupiter performance with a good spring of high school ball, to find their way onto draft boards and hear their name called in next year’s MLB Draft.



With that said, these are players who are going to be on the radar of pro organizations based on their performance at the 2025 WWBA World Championship. While they may not all be in the initial Top 150 of the PG Draft Board, they are names to know, names to keep circled, and players to be familiar with as the 2026 draft snowball gathers steam rolling downhill.

Sean Duncan | LHP | Terry Fox Secondary (Can.)
Brewers Langley Blaze | Vanderbilt commit

Sean Duncan has been a name to know for some time now on the prep circuit, well before his commitment to Vanderbilt. However, the southpaw made a statement with his outing in Jupiter for the 2025 WWBA World Championship. Duncan is a 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame and build, with a lean frame and good projection throughout. He also worked 91-94 T95 mph on the fastball, with ride at the top of the zone, and feel to show it with good angle and life in the lower half of the zone. The heater spins in the 2500s as well. He shows a slider in the low- to mid-80s, with

devilish sweeper traits and spin in the 2,700+ RPM range. He also showed an upper-80s changeup with good fading depth to it. Duncan put together a dominant first two innings of his outing and navigated around some trouble in the third, for a 3.0-inning outing where he allowed 3 hits, walked one, and punched out 7 opposing hitters. He’s someone who performed well in Jupiter, and that outing certainly makes noise in the eyes of scouts and decision-makers.

Tyson Grulkowski | RHP |Muskego HS (Wisc.)
Cincinnati Reds Scout Team | South Florida commit

Tyson Grulkowski made some serious noise on the circuit this calendar year, going from uncommitted to committing to USF, and performing quite well at PG National. He carried the success from the summer into the fall with a loud performance at the Heartland Champions Cup. He carried that over to Jupiter and put together yet another impressive outing for the Cincinnati Reds Scout Team. Grulkowski is a 6-foot-5, 225-pound frame and build, with a really imposing and physical look on the mound. His fastball worked 91-94 mph from a tough slot, inducing plenty of whiffs from the lower slot that he works from. The pitch spins in the 25-2600s. He also has an upper-70s sweeper with spin in the 3000s, with good traits. He also has an upper-80s changeup, with good fading depth to it, that is truly a weapon. Grulkowski went 3.0 innings of 1-hit baseball, with no walks and 3 punchouts to his credit in his Jupiter outing.

Rhett Britt | RHP | Topsail HS (N.C.)
South Charlotte Panthers 2026 | North Carolina commit

Rhett Britt was dominant in his outing in Jupiter, and it was one that made some noise in front of the scouts there at the event. The right-handed pitcher has a 6-foot-4, 193-pound frame with a longer and lengthy frame with athletic movements on the mound. He has a ton of arm speed and looseness working through it. Britt worked 91-93 mph on the fastball in his outing, with around 20 inches of IVB, good angle to it, and feel to command the zone. He showed a tighter gyro slider in the upper-70s, with a sharp look to it. He also turns over an upper-70s changeup, with good depth to it. He attacks hitters with authority and makes competitive pitches time and time again. In Jupiter, he threw 3.0 innings, punching out 8 hitters out of the nine outs he recorded, without allowing a hit or walking anyone.

Jace Mataczynski | SS | Hudson HS (Wisc.)
Ohio Warhawks | Auburn commit

Jace Mataczynski has blown up on the circuit this year, with some truly impressive performances to end the summer, including this fall and his WWBA World Championship performance with the Ohio Warhawks. The Auburn commit has garnered the attention of scouts with his performance and shown off tools that translate well to the next level. Mataczynski has a 6-foot-3, 189-pound frame and build, with a lean and athletic look that projects well. He swings it from the right side with a spread base, high hands, and a loose stroke. He has tons of feel for the barrel and produces hard-hit balls to all parts of the field, and he did just that in Jupiter. Mataczynski finished 6-for-11 on the weekend, with 2 doubles and a home run, tallying 3 RBI on the way. He showed the tools and also performed well, with a big fall on the circuit, capped off by his success in Jupiter; he’s a name who has established himself in the conversation.

Winston Pennant | OF | Sumner HS (Fla.)
Ostingers Baseball 2026 | Ole Miss commit

Winston Pennant was one of the bats who drew attention from scouts in Jupiter, and his performance spoke for itself during his week. Pennant is a physical and strong 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame with plenty to like and continue projecting upon moving forward. He’s a corner outfielder bat who swung it well, time and time again, for his Ostingers squad. Pennant is a right-handed bat who can impact the baseball with good jump off the barrel and some really loud results. Pennant seemingly lived on the barrel and leveraged the baseball every at-bat. The Ole Miss commit got it done at the plate, managing a 9-for-15 line, with a triple, and 2 home runs, with 10 RBI to his credit. He posted a .700 on-base percentage as well. It was an impressive week for Pennant, who certainly made a statement with his performance in Jupiter.

Colin White | LHP | Harrison HS (Ga.)
USA Prime National/Detroit Tigers Scout Team | Florida commit
White had his start in Jupiter cut short due to rain, but the outing was still loud enough to be featured on this list. The lefthander needed just 23 pitches to cruise through two hitless innings while recording three strikeouts. White ran the fastball up to 96 mph to go with a low-80’s hammer curveball with spin rate around 2800 rpm. The swing and miss stuff comes from a tough overhead slot that can overpower hitters. The stuff combined with a physical 6-foot-4. 205-pound frame makes for a very enticing profile that will draw plenty of attention this spring.  

Will Yow | SS | St. Anne’s-Belfield HS (Va.)
Richmond Braves 18u Platinum | Virginia commit
Yow has garnered some scouts attention this fall, but officially jumped on the scene with a loud Jupiter performance. The Virginia commit collected six, including a homerun, and a pair of multi-hit games. Yow possesses advanced athleticism that has tested well to go with potential multiple plus tools on the card. There is a feel to hit and developing power to tap into further. Yow has the potential to skyrocket up boards this spring. 
 

Colin Driffill | RHP | Millard North HS (Neb.)
Spects National 2026 | Kansas State commit
Driffill has continued to show a progression in stuff throughout the summer and fall circuit, but really showed an uptick in stuff during his outing in Jupiter. The Kansas State commit overpowered hitters with a heater that topped out at 97 mph. Only two pitchers recorded a higher velocity in the event. Big time riding life allows it to miss bats. A tight two-plane breaking ball tunnels well and has spin rates over 2700 rpm. The velocity and swing and miss stuff stands out. If Driffill can maintain the progression of stuff into the spring there will be obvious interest. 


Matthew Mansbery | SS | Walsh Jesuit HS (Ohio)
Canes Midwest National | Michigan commit
Mansbery is a name that has gained some steam and will continue to creep up draft boards this spring. The shortstop out of Ohio put on a show at the plate in Jupiter, reaching base twelve times and collecting five extra-base hits. A simple swing and a physical 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame create a strong feel to hit with impact off the barrel. There is power that shows up in-game already with even more to come. While he may not be as high on boards currently, the performance in Jupiter and offensive potential could lead to a significant rise this spring. 
 
Brady Marconi | C | Charlotte Catholic HS (N.C.)
South Charlotte Panthers 2026 Marucci | College of Charleston commit
Marconi showed off some of the best power down in Jupiter. The power hitting backstop collected four extra-base hits, including a multi home run performance. One of those homers was the sixth furthest hit ball in the event at 420 feet. Marconi features a physical 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame that combines with high-end bat speed to generate big time juice at the plate. Very few catchers possess the power that Marconi has and it should draw some eyes come spring time.

Connor Comeau | 1B/OF | Anderson HS (Texas)
USA Prime/Detroit Tigers Scout Team | Texas A&M commit

Comeau has long been touted for his hit/power upside and it showed in Jupiter. He lifted a ball to right-center 394 feet that jumped off his bat. The approach and hit tool showed all week long from the Aggies commit. It’s advanced swing decisions for a 17-year-old and his feel to hit combined with what he can become physically makes him one of the more enticing prospects in the class. He showed it all on the big stage and played a sound corner with awfully soft hands at first base and around the bag. He’s a name to to clearly circle next spring.

Logan Kriner | RHP | Palmyra Area HS (Pa.)
.9ers Baseball 2026 Prime | Delaware commit 

A good pop-up in Jupiter was Kriner’s fastball with its vert and carry that took off at 91-93 mph. He garnered plenty of whiffs up in the zone and the metrics on it really show with 20-plus inches of IVB with average extension. He mixed in a shorter slider in the low-80s and the mover from a 6-foot-2 frame combined with the stuff can make him an enticing follow this spring. 

Zane Shaw | RHP | Lawrence Free State HS (Kan.)
Canes National 18u/NY Mets Scout Team | Nebraska commit

Shaw is a stronger bodied 6-foot-1 build with some real arm strength and secondaries. The fastball was up to 94 mph in Jupiter, living 90-92 mph with some cut-ride shape (19-21 IVB 4-6 HB) from a higher release. The slider has some shorter gyro-action with its shape and bite in the low-80s with a developing changeup, but he repeats both at a sound rate for a prep. He was an immediate standout in looks throughout the week. 


Landon Brown | RHP | Iowa Colony HS (Texas)
Wow Factor National 18u | Mississippi State commit

Brown has stood out all fall long before Jupiter, and put it all together with tons of eyes in attendance. He was up to 96 mph and lived 92-94, jumping out of the hand a bit with some run and tail from a lower three-quarter slot. He has a harder two-plane slider in the mid-80s and a running changeup in the upper-80s to lefties. Brown is a turn and burn from the stretch and rotates fast in space from a bigger bodied 6-foot-3 frame. The arm strength really projects and has a chance to light up radar guns this spring. 

Rylan Alaniz | SS/UT | Trinity HS (Texas)
Stix 2026 Scout | Texas State commit

Keep an eye on this one, following a standout summer and fall Alaniz really stood out in Jupiter with his instincts and clock at a premium position. Alaniz can do a bit of everything and can simply play the game. He flashed above-average run times from the right side, showed an all fields hit tool with quality swing decisions. The glove is becoming one of the better ones in the state. He can fit a super-utility role at the next level, but the feet to throw and actions in space at short can really stick. He’s getting into power, there’s some bat speed with extension and whip in the swing to dream upon as he adds strength. It’s not sexy or plus tools on a card, but he’s a name I am keeping a close eye on next spring with his well-rounded skill set and ability to slow the game down.

The calendar is just days away from being flipped over to 2026, and while the players may be on break, it’s clear that they are just itching to get back on the field and compete once again, with another season of college baseball right around the corner. For prep players (especially in warm-weather states), the season’s right around the corner, and players will be back on the ball fields sooner than later. The LSU Tigers Win It All Again For the second time in the last three years, the LSU Tigers, led by head coach Jay Johnson secured the national title.
