Recruiting Notebook: December 22

Photo: Jose Partida (Perfect Game)
Lucien Saint Cyr, INF, Class of 2026
Commitment: Bucknell

Saint Cyr announced his pledge to Bucknell, giving the Bison an interesting blend of present tools and projection. Saint Cyr stands 6-foot-1 and offers room to fill in his medium frame, profiling in the middle infield defensively. The New York product starts wide at the base in the right-handed box, keeping his hands high behind the ear. He works into a subtle outward step load, firing through a compact barrel that showcases bat speed and gap-to-gap impact. For head coach Scott Heather and Bucknell, they land a high-quality Northeast infielder in the ’26 cycle, adding to a class that takes the quality over quantity approach.

Patrick Diaz, INF, Class of 2026
Commitment: Stony Brook

The Seawolves experienced a big recruiting win last week, nabbing corner infielder Patrick Diaz (Bronx, NY) for their 2026 class. Diaz stands 6-foot-2 with present strength in his frame, showcasing loud skills across the board. Defensively, the NYC native works with lateral quickness and soft hands, profiling to stick on the dirt at the next level. He produced throws up to 93 across the diamond, giving him a more-than-adequate arm for the hot corner. At the plate, Diaz starts wide and slightly open at the base while keeping his hands high before working into a simple inward leg load. Diaz has generated exit velocities north of 100 mph with obvious impact to the pull side. Stony Brook remains a mid-major presence in the Northeast and lands a high quality in-state third baseman.

Connor McNally, INF/RHP, Class of 2027
Commitment: Lehigh

Last week, McNally announced his commitment to the Mountain Hawks of Lehigh. McNally, a two-way out of the Garden State, offers an advanced skillset on both sides of the ball. At the plate, McNally has produced exit velocities up to 98, possessing present strength in a medium right-handed frame. He starts wide at the base with high hands, working into an inward toe tap leg load before firing through a heavy barrel. Defensively, McNally profiles at the hot corner and has recorded strong throws across the diamond nearing 90 mph. He has also displayed his arm strength on the mound, working up to 87 with the fastball.

Jose Partida, LHP Class of 2027
College Commitment: Arizona State

Alongside Joshua Priest, we heard Partida make his announcement live to Head Coach Willie Bloomquist and the Arizona State Sun Devils via on Perfect Game's instagram and the duo immediately provided a boost to the class out in Tempe. A long and athletic 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, Partida has been on the national circuit for some time, partaking in the 14u Select Festival back in 2023 where we saw the young left-handers first big jump, going from the low-80s in the early spring to mid- to upper-80s in just a few months. Jump two years and he's continued to make strides, ramping it up to 92 mph this past summer while earning a spot in the All Star Game, though he's more than just a southpaw who throws hard. Thanks to a balanced and repeatable set of mechanics, Partida is able to pound the strike zone with a complete mix, including a changeup that he can turn over with conviction, showing late life that plays well off of a heavy heater.

Rilen Niclai, SS, Class of 2026
College Commitment: Arizona State

We won't move anywhere for the next college commitment, sticking with Arizona State, but for Niclai's home state we're going to have to log some milage to talk about the young Alaskan. Yep, Alaska. A known name around the baseball world as his older brother Coen came through the circuit two years ago, ultimately going in the 15th round to the Marlins before arriving at the University of Oregon, Rilen doesn't have the longest track record of events (understandably so) but he made the most of every opportunity he had. A long and rangy 6-foot-2, 185-pound shortstop, Niclai showed off his tools at this past summer's National Showcase where he showed plus speed (6.5), plenty of strength with the stick (multiple upper-90s to triple digit exit velocities) and actions in the dirt up the middle that'll serve him well in Tempe. Currently ranked 273, Niclai is the second highest ranked player in the ASU class and their 7th within the top 500, joining the likes of Jet Berry and JC Pacheco as high-end shortstop committed to Head Coach Willie Bloomquist.

Joshua Priest, OF, Class of 2027
Commitment: Arizona State

What a grab for the Sun Devils, staying on the west coast and nabbing the current No. 19 ranked player in the country in Priest. Full of quick twitch muscle, Priest is simply tooled up and is coming off a dominant Jupiter playing up a full grade. He hit two towering nukes and played a lockdown center field. He's long been known for his speed and power, a 6.4 runner with buggy bat speed and impact juice that plays to pull and the middle of the field. He can run it down at all three spots, bringing an intense fiery style that is infectious at points. There is vicious intent to his swings and he doesn't get cheated, Priest brings a big time tool set coming to ASU in the 2027 class.

Tucker Rice, RHP, Class of 2027
Commitment: Alabama

The Crimson Tide stay in the Deep South and nab a very intriguing arm in Rice. It's a potential starter frame and arsenal that repeats and lives in the zone. He was up to 91 mph at 16u WWBA from a loose three-quarter slot and showing the ability to get out front. There's two different fastballs, a riding four-seam and sinking two-seam with a good slider and changeup to mix. The mover, feel and direction at the age is pretty advanced and should only continue to mature. Rice has the makings to make quite an impact at Alabama.

MLK West Scout Notes: Days 3-4

MLK West Scout Notes: Days 1-2 Markus Chandler, RHP, Westside HS Class of 2027 A little on the undersized side as a sub 6 footer, but Chandler can generate some velo and spin.  Spun 3 frames of hitless ball for Spects National with zero walks and 6 strikeouts.  Committed to Kansas State, the righty ran the fastball to 92, living 89-92 pumping the zone with 75 percent strikes.  Looked like two different breaking balls, with the SL 80/81 (spin in 2500’s) and curveball 75/76.  No hard contact, little contact at all off the righty in this dominant outing. To follow up the pitching performance, Chandler swung the bat well on Championship Monday (Trademark Pending) with 5 RBI and three hits on the day, regularly on the barrel.  Trevor Alons, RHP, Centennial HS Class of 2028 Lean framed sophomore with a quick, whippy arm.  Playing up a few classes, you might...

Top 100 Collegiate Freshmen | Top 100 Collegiate Sophomores | Top 100 Collegiate Juniors This senior board is one of the deepest we’ve assembled in years. From experienced weekend arms with power stuff, to proven position players coming off loud 2025 spring seasons, to former prospects returning from injury and looking to reestablish their status, impact players are scattered throughout the group. Headlining the board is Maika Niu, now at Arkansas after a strong season at Marshall and an MVP summer on the Cape. Nui is a high-level athlete in center field and a legitimate offensive force who should slide seamlessly into the heart of the Razorbacks’ lineup. Close behind are two premium arms in Ole Miss’s Hunter Elliott and Kentucky’s Jaxon Jelkin. Elliott is coming off a monster 2025 spring, going 10–3 with a 2.94 ERA and 104 strikeouts, and...
