A trio of pitchers for Lowcountry Lightning Baseball combined to no-hit SBO-Florida, winning 6-2.
Barrett Walton (2014, Wando HS, SC) threw three of the six frames, striking out four with just one walk allowed. The South Carolina - Salkehatchie commit's heater sat in the 79-83 mph range with a 64-71 mph curve to keep hitters off balance. Andrew Lee (2014, Wando HS, SC) took care of two innings, allowing both runs which were unearned on two walks and a balk, striking out two. Lee's fastball touched 85 mph with a 71-74 mph hook. Tommy King (2015, Manning HS, SC) struck out two and walked one in his inning of work, hitting 86 mph on the gun with his fastball and also showing a 69-73 mph curve.
Daniel Propp (2015, Langley HS, VA) doubled in two, walked, and scored once. Mark Evans (2014, Wando HS, SC) also plated a pair with a double and came around to score. Neal Tolbert (2014, First Presbyterian Day HS, GA) also doubled and brought in one, his only hit in the game. Troy Rosado (2014, Wando HS, SC) singled and walked, scoring once with two stolen bases.
Gerald Collazo (2014, Coral Glades HS, PR) worked a pair of walks and stole a bag for SBO-Florida, but he was stranded on base each time. Olmo Keith (2015, Puerto Rico HS, PR) walked and stole two bases, and Ulises Calderon (2015, Zion Lutheran Christian, FL) reached base twice, once on a walk and once on an error, coming around to score once. Abdiel Rivera (2015, Coral Glades HS, PR) scored the other run for SBO, reaching on an error.
Alabama State commit Kevin Lara (2014, International Baseball Academy, PR) only threw 0.2 innings of relief, allowing an unearned run on two hits and a walk, but he did touch 85 mph on the gun with his fastball, sitting 75-85 mph with a 73 mph change up. Miguel Lopez (2014, Coral Glades HS, PR) only allowed one hit in four innings, striking out six with two runs and three walks allowed. Lopez's heater sat 72-81 mph with a 64-70 mph hook and 70 mph change up.
